Paper Trails is based in Wangaratta, Victoria, where we offer face-to-face appointments in a calm and welcoming space. Address provided at appointment booking.
Some appointments can also be provided via telehealth, where appropriate.

Yes. Paper Trails can work with self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, where the requested service can appropriately be funded through the participant's plan.
As Paper Trails is not a registered NDIS provider, we are unable to provide NDIS-funded services to participants whose relevant funding is NDIA-managed.
If you're unsure how your plan is managed or whether a particular service can be funded, please get in touch and we can discuss this with you.
-
No. You can contact Paper Trails directly to enquire about therapy, psychological assessment or family and carer support.
A referral is only required if you are seeking to claim a Medicare rebate for eligible psychology sessions, such as through a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or another eligible health professional.
-
Medicare rebates may be available for eligible psychology appointments when you have an appropriate referral and Medicare plan from your GP or another eligible medical practitioner.
Not all Paper Trails services or assessments attract a Medicare rebate, so we recommend discussing this with us when making an enquiry.
-
Paper Trails currently accepts payment via invoice. An invoice will be sent to you following your appointment, with details for payment by bank transfer.
We do not currently have EFTPOS facilities available.
For NDIS participants, invoices will be sent to your nominated email address with a 7-day payment period, or directly to your nominated plan manager where applicable.

Therapy appointments are $230 for a standard 50-minute session.
For comparison, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees for 2026–27 recommends $330 for a standard 46–60 minute psychology consultation.
Psychological assessment fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the assessment. Our website provides guide prices for common assessment pathways, with fees considering the time required for assessment, scoring, interpretation, report writing and feedback.
We’ll discuss the recommended approach and expected fees with you before commencing, so you have a clear understanding of costs from the outset.
-
That's completely okay. You don't need to know which service you need before getting in touch.
Sometimes the best starting point is simply talking through what's happening, what you're noticing and what you'd like help understanding. We can then discuss whether therapy, assessment, family or carer support, or another service may be the most appropriate next step.

At this stage, Paper Trails does not provide diagnostic Autism assessments. We hope to expand our assessment services to include Autism assessments in 2027.
Where appropriate, an Autism screening measure can be included as part of another psychological assessment. Screening does not provide an Autism diagnosis, but it may help identify whether further Autism-specific assessment would be helpful and inform recommendations for next steps.
-
Yes, depending on the referral question and assessment undertaken. Our psychologist can assess for and diagnose ADHD, Specific Learning Disorders and Intellectual Disability where the assessment findings support a diagnosis.
For ADHD assessments, our psychologist can provide a psychological assessment and diagnosis. If you would like to explore medication as part of ADHD treatment, you will need to take the assessment report to a paediatrician or psychiatrist, as psychologists do not prescribe medication.
We do not currently provide diagnostic Autism assessments, although Autism screening can be included in other assessments where appropriate.

Our psychologist works with children and adolescents, with support tailored to their individual needs, developmental stage and experiences.
Paper Trails will also work alongside parents and carers where this supports the young person’s therapeutic needs, including parent/carer sessions, guidance and collaborative work.
While children and adolescents are the primary focus of our practice, adult counselling may be available in some circumstances, depending on individual needs and current availability. Please get in touch to discuss whether Paper Trails may be the right fit for you.
-
Once we receive your enquiry, we’ll arrange a complimentary 10-minute phone call to learn a little about what has brought you to Paper Trails, what you’re hoping for from support, and whether we’re the right service for you.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll answer any initial questions and arrange your first appointment, along with any information or forms needed to get started.

Yes. Supporting the adults around a child is an important part of our work.
Paper Trails offers tailored support for foster carers, kinship carers, parents and care teams, with a focus on understanding the child beneath the behaviour, trauma and attachment-informed care, strengthening relationships and developing practical ways of responding to the child's needs.
We can also collaborate with schools, Child Protection and other professionals where appropriate - this is outlined in our Building Stronger Relationships packages.
-
This will depend on your private health insurer and level of cover. We recommend contacting your health fund directly before your appointment to confirm whether psychology services are included and what rebate you may be eligible to receive.
You will be provided with an invoice following your appointment, which you can submit directly to your private health fund to make a claim.
-
No. Paper Trails is a private practice and does not offer bulk billing.
Where eligible, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate for psychology sessions with an appropriate referral, such as a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Any applicable rebate can be claimed following your appointment.
If cost is a concern, we encourage you to discuss this with us when making an enquiry so you have a clear understanding of fees before commencing

We understand that life with children and families doesn’t always go to plan. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to find another suitable time.
Where appropriate, we may also be able to change a face-to-face appointment to telehealth rather than cancelling.
We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment.
If you are unable to give 24 hours notice, Paper Trails reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee, equalling the full cost of the appointment scheduled.
