The People Behind Paper Trails
Every story leaves a trail. Ours led us here.
Meet Rebecca
Director & Registered Psychologist
Registered Psychologist (AHPRA) · Member, Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi)
Hi, I’m Rebecca, Director and Registered Psychologist at Paper Trails.
I work with children, young people, families and carers in a warm, collaborative and curious way.
My approach is trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive and strengths-based, with a focus on understanding each young person as a whole - their experiences, emotions, relationships, strengths, challenges and developmental needs. Creating safety, reducing shame and building genuine connection are central to my work, so young people feel heard and understood, and the adults around them can respond with greater clarity and compassion.
I have intentionally shaped my career around working with children and young people, where I feel most connected and purposeful. My experience spans therapeutic, educational and community settings, with particular interests in developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, psychological assessment, emotional wellbeing and relationship-based support.
Outside of work, I love spending most of my time with my dogs. I enjoy bright and colourful things, and anything with a little sparkle or shimmer. I am a lover of coffee, a good book or podcast, board games, fun and laughter, and I rarely take myself too seriously. I often have many ideas racing through my mind at once and bring a natural sense of energy, creativity and curiosity to the way I connect with people. While my professional qualifications and experience are deeply important to me, I am also simply a person who values genuine connection, humour and helping others feel comfortable enough to be themselves.
Meet Vanessa
Director & Therapeutic Specialist
Hi, I'm Vanessa, Director and Therapeutic Specialist at Paper Trails
I’m passionate about supporting children, young people, parents and carers as they navigate life’s challenges and make sense of the experiences that have shaped their story. I bring a strong appreciation for culture, identity and connection to my work, and have had the privilege of supporting Aboriginal children and families throughout my career. My approach is warm and grounded in connection. I want people to feel safe to be themselves, share what is happening for them, and know that they will be met with curiosity, compassion and respect.
My work has been shaped by years of supporting children and families affected by family violence, trauma, disrupted relationships and other complex life experiences. I’ve worked alongside children, parents, foster and kinship carers, schools and professionals. These experiences have reinforced my belief in looking beyond behaviour, listening to the child’s voice and understanding the experiences and relationships that have shaped their world.
For me, therapeutic support isn’t about having all the answers or trying to “fix” someone. It’s about creating space for reflection, understanding and finding a way forward together. My hope is that people leave Paper Trails feeling genuinely heard and valued, with greater understanding, confidence and clarity about what comes next.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with my dog, Evy - who completely has my heart—getting lost in a good book or podcast, chatting about business over coffee, travelling or enjoying a relaxing day spa. I love meaningful conversations, lifelong learning, and connecting with people who care deeply about making a difference.
